6. So What's Actually New This Year?

Beyond the spec sheet, three things genuinely change how these phones feel to use:

Tensor G6 and on-device Gemini

The new chip brings 50% more TPU compute, which means Gemini Nano runs locally rather than shuttling your data off to a server. In practice: faster Magic Capture, Camera Coach, Call Assist and Live Translate, and they keep working when your signal doesn't.

Should You Pre-Order, or Wait?

Here's the honest answer: pre-order pricing on Pixels rarely gets beaten before Black Friday. Launch-window contracts are priced to shift volume, and right now the best Pixel 11 deal on our site works out at less than the £879 SIM-free price with two years of data thrown in. That is not a price that hangs around.
