Google has done it again. The Pixel 11 family has landed, and this year it's a proper line-up — four handsets, one very clever chip, and a camera system that finally gives the big-name flagships something to worry about. Pre-orders are open now, the phones ship on Thursday 20th August, and the launch contracts are some of the sharpest we've seen all year.
So whether you're a long-time Pixel fan, an iPhone owner having a wobble, or you just want to know which one to actually buy, we at phones.co.uk have pulled together everything you need to know — plus the best Pixel 11 pre-order deals on our site right now.
1. Meet the Pixel 11 Family
Four phones, one shared brain. Every model runs Google's new Tensor G6 chip, launches on Android 17, and comes with seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates — so a Pixel 11 bought today is still getting new features in 2033.

| Pixel 11 | 6.3" Actua OLED, 3,000 nits | 4,985 mAh | £879 |
| Pixel 11 Pro | 6.3" Super Actua LTPO, 3,600 nits | 4,850 mAh | £1,079 |

2. Google Pixel 11: The Sensible One
![]()
The standard Pixel 11 is the one most people should be looking at, and this year it's had the upgrade it deserved. The headline news is the 5x telephoto lens — a proper optical zoom on a non-Pro Pixel, which is something Apple and Samsung still don't offer at this price.
What you get
- Triple camera at last: a 48MP wide, 13MP ultrawide and 10.8MP 5x telephoto with optical stabilisation, plus Super Zoom to 30x.
- A bigger battery: 4,985 mAh with 30+ hours of life, and Pixelsnap Qi2.2 wireless charging up to 25W — magnets, finally.
- 12GB of RAM as standard: enough headroom to run Gemini Nano entirely on-device.
- 6.3-inch Actua OLED with a 60–120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 3,000 nits peak brightness.
3. Google Pixel 11 Pro: The Best Camera in a Small Phone
![]()
If you've ever wanted a flagship camera without the flagship-sized phone, this is it. The Pixel 11 Pro squeezes the entire Pro camera system into a 6.3-inch body that weighs just 204g.
What you get
- Pro triple camera: 50MP wide (with a big 1/1.3" sensor), 48MP ultrawide with Macro Focus, and a 48MP 5x telephoto.
- Pro Zoom to 120x, with optical quality at 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 5x and 10x.
- A 42MP selfie camera with autofocus and a 103° field of view — a serious jump for group shots and video calls.
- 8K video with Video Boost, plus Night Sight Video and Pro Stable Video.
- Super Actua LTPO display hitting 3,600 nits peak brightness — readable in genuine British summer glare.
- Up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, with vapour chamber cooling to keep the Tensor G6 in check.

4. Google Pixel 11 Pro XL: The Full-Fat Flagship
![]()
Same camera, same chip, more of everything else. The Pro XL stretches to a 6.8-inch Super Actua LTPO display, packs the biggest battery in the range at 5,115 mAh, and charges fastest of the lot.
What you get
- 45W fast charging: up to 75% in around 30 minutes — comfortably the quickest Pixel yet.
- The biggest battery in the range at 5,115 mAh, with 30+ hour life even with the larger screen.
- The full Pro camera system, unchanged from the Pro. You're paying for size and stamina, not a better lens.
- Up to 1TB storage with 16GB RAM and Zoned UFS on the 512GB and 1TB models.

5. And One More: the Pixel 11 Pro Fold
![]()
Google's book-style foldable returns alongside the rest of the range, bringing the same Tensor G6 brains and Gemini features to a tablet-sized inner screen. It's the priciest way into the family at £1,799 SIM-free — though the right contract brings the real cost down a long way, as the deals table below shows.

6. So What's Actually New This Year?
Beyond the spec sheet, three things genuinely change how these phones feel to use:
Tensor G6 and on-device Gemini
The new chip brings 50% more TPU compute, which means Gemini Nano runs locally rather than shuttling your data off to a server. In practice: faster Magic Capture, Camera Coach, Call Assist and Live Translate, and they keep working when your signal doesn't.
Pixelsnap and Qi2.2
Every Pixel 11 now has magnets built in, with Qi2.2 wireless charging up to 25W. If you've been eyeing up the magnetic accessory ecosystem from the other side of the fence, the wait is over.
Seven years of updates
Still the quiet killer feature. Seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates makes the total cost of ownership look very different from a phone you'll replace in three. Read our guide to total cost of ownership →
7. The Best Pixel 11 Pre-Order Deals on phones.co.uk
Here's the bit that matters. We've compared every Pixel 11 contract on our site and pulled out the cheapest by total cost — upfront plus every monthly payment over the full term, which is the only number that tells you what a phone really costs.
| Handset | Best deal | Total cost |
| Pixel 11 | iD Mobile, 150GB, 24 months — £14.99 a month, £279 upfront | £638.76 |
| Pixel 11 Pro | iD Mobile, 150GB, 24 months — £29.99 a month, £79 upfront | £798.76 |
| Pixel 11 Pro XL | iD Mobile, 150GB, 24 months — £29.99 a month, £199 upfront | £918.76 |
| Pixel 11 Pro Fold | iD Mobile, 150GB, 24 months — £29.99 a month, £459 upfront | £1,178.76 |
The Pro is the one to watch
Look at the gaps. Stepping up from the Pixel 11 to the Pixel 11 Pro costs just £160 more over two years — £798.76 against £638.76 — and that buys you the full Pro camera system, the 3,600-nit display and up to 16GB of RAM. Measured against the £200 gap in their SIM-free prices, the Pro is the better value of the two on contract. It also undercuts the Pro XL by £120, so unless you specifically want the bigger screen and battery, this is where we'd put our money.
Want a low upfront cost instead?
If handing over a few hundred pounds on day one isn't happening, the Pixel 11 comes with unlimited data for £27.99 a month and just £29 upfront — £700.76 all in.
And if you want unlimited data
Unlimited data doesn't cost much more than you'd think. The Pixel 11 with unlimited data on iD Mobile works out at £678.76 total, and the Pro XL at £958.76 — both only about £40 more than their 150GB equivalents.

Should You Pre-Order, or Wait?
Here's the honest answer: pre-order pricing on Pixels rarely gets beaten before Black Friday. Launch-window contracts are priced to shift volume, and right now the best Pixel 11 deal on our site works out at less than the £879 SIM-free price with two years of data thrown in. That is not a price that hangs around.
That said, if your current phone is fine, there's no shame in waiting. The Pixel 10 range is still excellent and its prices have already dropped. And if you are upgrading, value your old handset first — it comes off the cost of the new one, and it takes about a minute.
